Mustang's AllyJune 15, 2004 The 2005 Mustang blends the special elements of styling, performance and character that distinguished Mustang from every other car in the Ford family. The "base" model, powered by a 200 HP aluminum V6, sports 16-inch aluminum wheels shod with P215/65TR16 BFGoodrich® Traction T/A® tires. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, with five-speed automatic optional. What made the Mustang unique when it first appeared was that it was an all-new car with an all-new shape in 1964 and the excitement of that unique package came regardless of the level of equipment ordered. Every performance version of the car came with the special Mustang look, and while everyone remembers the high-output V8 Mustang as the one that gave the car its image. It was the six-cylinder Mustang with three-on-the-column that put the sales up to an all-time record. And the six-cylinder version with the three-speed had exactly the same shape as the V8 version with four-speed. The 2005 Mustang aims to continue Mustang's unique legacy, delivering what Mustang means to so many people which is that while it's a sporty car and an expressive car, at the same time it's a car you can live with every day. It's also a car you can afford. BFGoodrich tires were a natural choice for the new Mustang. BFGoodrich® tires have been original equipment on some of the fastest Mustangs in the fabled pony car's history. Photo courtesy of Ford Motor Co. |
