8.46 Seconds On BFGoodrich® Drag Radials

Last year, the Titan Motorsports Toyota Supra dominated the NHRA Summit™ Sport Compact Drag Racing Series on BFGoodrich® Drag Radials, setting new import Street Tire records for E.T. (9.002) and MPH and demolishing the previous record by more than 1.3 seconds -- an eternity in the millisecond world of drag racing.

This year, Maryland's Paul Efantis in the Motorsport Performance (MSP) Supra just shattered that mark on BFGoodrich® Drag Radials, setting a new import Street Tire world record at the season-opening NOPI Drag Racing Association (NDRA) "Race Wars" event in Dallas. In fact, Efantis beat Titan's Mark Mazurowski in the final to win the BFGoodrich Pro Street Tire class event. Efantis' best run was 8.46 seconds @ 167.28 MPH. Efantis edged Mazurowski in the finals of the season's second race as well. The Pro Street Tire class is open to DOT-approved radial tires from any manufacturer.

The 8.46 ET pass surprised even Efantis, "Last season we were running slicks and were the world's quickest street Supra, with an 8.82 at 160 MPH," says Efantis. (The Titan car was the world's quickest street Supra on street tires.) "Later we got that down to 8.76. To not only break that record, but to do it on street radials is just amazing."

Both Titan and MSP think they can better that mark over the course of the season - and believe BFGoodrich Drag Radials will be a big part of it.

"We hope to regain the title at the next event," says Titan boss Nero Deliwala. "I've raced on BFGoodrich throughout my whole racing career. We love 'em. The Drag Radials are awesome."

Says Efantis, "There are a lot of drag radials out there and we've tried just about all of them. And there's nothing out there as superior as BFG."
