CR-V is top compact SUV
August 22, 2005

The combination of features offered on Honda's second-generation compact sport-utility vehicle — the CR-V — so impressed Motor Trend that they named the 2005 Honda CR-V Best Overall Value of the Year, Compact Utility Over $21,000, in a report posted on their web site May 5. The chart-topping designation for Honda's popular compact SUV cited numerous enhancements for the 2005 model, which include an upgrade to standard 16-inch wheels for all four models — one 2WD and three 4WD versions — that feature BFGoodrich® Traction T/A® tires as original equipment.

Complementary new features include across-the-board availability of five-speed transmissions — either manual or automatic — on all four models. Standard on all models is drive-by-wire throttle control, and a new cam-driven all-wheel-drive system to aid both acceleration and hill climbing. In addition, side airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), as well as anti-lock brakes are now standard across the model range of the compact family-size Honda SUV.

With those engineering advances onboard, it's no wonder that Honda chose to equip their line of CR-Vs with BFGoodrich Traction T/A tires, which help deliver unbeatable traction and handling in dry and wet conditions.
