BFGoodrich® Tires Motorsports: 2004 Year In Review; Racing Records & Series Championships Mark Successful Year
Greenville, SC

BFGoodrich® Tires completed a very successful 2004 establishing new records and recording series championships both on- and off-road. BFGoodrich Tires secured 16 series championships on its way to a record 2004 racing season.

"Our motto has been to use motorsports as a proving ground for our tires and 2004 proved to be a winning year," said Thom Peebles, BFGoodrich Tires brand director. "In 2004, in the series in which we competed, we won more class and overall championships than our competition. In addition, in certain series, we won more than all of our competitors combined. That is proving something."

"2004 was a very memorable year," said Todd Steen, motorsports marketing manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "We not only secured 15 series championships, but we began participation in two new series, broke multiple track records and won our 19th straight SCORE Baja 1000."

Off-Road Racing

During the competitive 2004 off-road racing year, BFGoodrich Tires competed in SCORE, CORR, UROC and Best In The Desert including providing tires for the JeepSpeed desert racing series.

BFGoodrich Tires clinched its 19th straight overall four-wheel vehicle championship at the SCORE Baja 1000 with Troy Herbst and Larry Roeseler claiming the title in their Class 1 "Truggy". Overall, BFGoodrich once again clinched the SCORE series championship winning more races than its competitors combined. At the series' annual awards banquet, BFGoodrich Tires was honored as SCORE Contingency Company of the year and the 2004 SCORE Pit Support Team of the year.

In the CORR series, teams using the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A and All-Terrain T/A won all three Pro-Class Championships (Pro-4, Pro-2 and Pro-Lite) for the fifth year in a row and won three of five Sportsman Class Championships. In addition, members of the BFGoodrich Tires team won more races in 2004 than all other tire companies combined.

In the UROC rock crawling series, Tracy Jordan and Dean Bulloch secured the 2004 Super Modified and Modified class championships giving BFGoodrich Tires the championship sweep in both classes of the UROC Eastern and Western Extreme series and the UROC Pro-National series. For the third straight year, BFGoodrich Tires teams "krawled" over the competition at UROC's SuperCrawl III held in Salt Lake City, Utah. Randy Torbett, 2004 Extreme East Series champion, won the Super Modified class with BFGoodrich Tires teams sweeping the top ten spots. Dean Bulloch continued his winning ways by securing the top spot in the Modified class with BFGoodrich Tires teams taking home five of the top six spots.

In the Best in the Desert series, BFGoodrich Tires teams won 55 class races claiming 75-percent of all race class wins. Overall, BFGoodrich Tires secured nine out of 14 championships.
