February 12, 2001 BFGoodrich® Brand Beefs Up g-Force T/A® KD Line With New Sizes Greenville, SC The BFGoodrich® g-Force T/A® KD, the ultra-high-performance tire that redefined what's possible on the street, is getting five more sizes, bringing the total lineup to 19, ranging from 15- to 18-inch diameters. The new dimensions, which include a 205/50ZR15, 225/50ZR15, 205/55ZR16, 225/50ZR16 and 205/40ZR17, will be available in June. Since it's introduction, the g-Force T/A KD has earned a reputation for outstanding dry traction and handling. Specifically, the tire delivers excellent on-center feel and response, superb high-speed stability, precise steering and outstanding cornering power. Its stuck-to-the-road feel ensures exceptional control and inspires supreme confidence. A key to the g-Force T/A KD's performance is its proprietary BlackTech tread compound, which maximizes traction on dry pavement while resisting heat buildup. The tire's tread pattern is asymmetric and directional, with a low rubber-to-void ratio — 21 percent on the outboard side and 31 percent inboard. By designing a specific tire for each side of the vehicle, the brand's engineers could locate large, stable blocks on the outside and more water-evacuation channels on the inside. The result is a tire with more contact area than almost any other street tire in history. Other features important to the tire's performance include:
