March 7, 2002 BFGoodrich® Tires Posts $32,500 Contingency, Announces $10,000 Three-for-Three Challenge Greenville, SC BFGoodrich Tires, title sponsor of the IDRC Street Class Presented by Sport Compact Car magazine, is putting the power to the pavement with a support program featuring $32,500 in contingency awards for racers in all classes and a $10,000 bonus for the winner of the new "Three-for-Three Challenge." (BFGoodrich Tires contingency and Challenge bonus are in addition to the guaranteed $65,000 cash payout for the class.) To qualify for both the contingency awards and the Challenge bonus, racers must use BFGoodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radials on their drive axles. According to Todd Steen, Motorsports Manager for BFGoodrich Tires, the "Three-for-Three Challenge" provided the BFGoodrich brand with a unique opportunity to further support import and sport compact enthusiasts. To collect the $10,000 bonus, a racer has to win the Street Class at all three events where BFGoodrich Tires is the title sponsor. The Challenge kicks off at the BFGoodrich Tires IDRC Firebird Nationals in Phoenix, Ariz., March 16-17, and then moves to the BFGoodrich Tires IDRC Summer Slam Nationals at Englishtown, N.J., July 6-7. The final round returns to Firebird Lake with the BFGoodrich Tires IDRC Compact Car Invasion, Oct 12-13. A sweep of the three garners the $10,000 bonus, while taking two of three will net a $5,000 payout. "IDRC is a growing showcase for the fastest import and sport compact cars competing on DOT tires, and we're very pleased to add our support to the series," Steen said. "It's the perfect place to demonstrate the performance of our g-Force T/A Drag Radial." "BFGoodrich Tires had the opportunity last year to be involved in a number of sport compact and import events. They've built on this experience, and we are very excited that BFGoodrich Tires has chosen to substantially increase its support to the racers, fans, media and marketing partners of the IDRC. BFGoodrich Tires has a goal to stay on top of the always changing product demands of the import and sport compact market, and we feel that the IDRC Championship Series offers a tremendous opportunity for BFGoodrich Tires to reach that goal and to further develop its product lines," says IDRC National Director Michael Ferrara. |
