BFGoodrich® Tires Receive Top Ranking In Tire Rack Test & Consumer Survey
Los Angeles, C.A.

Two BFGoodrich® tires, the g-Force T/A® KDW and the Traction T/A (V-rated), received top rankings in recent tire tests by The Tire Rack.

The g-Force T/A KDW was ranked first in the Ultra High Performance (UHP) Summer category while the Traction T/A tire received top marks in the High Performance All-Season (HPAS) tire category. In addition, both tires are ranked at the top of their respective categories by consumers and visitors to tirerack.com.

"It is important to have third parties test our tires versus the competition," said Thom Peebles, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. "Both tires were designed specifically for consumers looking to upgrade their vehicle's performance and the results are a reflection on each tire's advanced engineering and design."

g-Force T/A KDW Tire Test Results

The g-Force T/A KDW tire has moved to the top of Tire Rack's UHP Summer category besting competitor tires including the Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP and Goodyear Eagle HP Ultra Plus.

The g-Force T/A KDW tire received top marks in categories ranging from Dry Traction and Cornering Stability to Steering Response and Ride Comfort. Featuring a unique tread pattern, the g-Force T/A KDW tire is designed to fit performance vehicles ranging in size from the Mini Cooper and Honda Civic to the HUMMER H2 and Cadillac Escalade including sizes 15-24-inches in diameter.

The g-Force T/AKDW brings together the experience and knowledge that BFGoodrich Tires has gained at the race track coupled with input from tuners and dealers around the country. Noted for its incredible dry traction and wet weather control, the g-Force T/AKDW has gained a reputation for long treadlife and a smooth, quiet ride. The tire sports a Y-speed rating (up to 186 mph) making it the perfect fit for many of today's high-performance tuned automobiles.

The g-Force T/A KDW tire is original equipment on the Dodge SRT-4 and was recently selected for the 2004 Roush Performance-modified Ford F-150 and Focus. By July 2004, the g-Force T/AKDW will be offered in 85 sizes, the largest ultra-high performance tire in the world. The tire comes with an industry-leading limited warranty, which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for six years from the date of purchase, whichever occurs first.

Traction T/A (V-Rated) Tire Test Results

The first Traction T/A tires made their debut as racing slicks developed for the American Speed Association (ASA) stock car racing series, and have most recently become the official tires of Skip Barber Racing and the USAR Hooters Pro-Cup series. It should come as no surprise that the new street version of Traction T/A has a very competitive nature.

For the first time ever, the Traction T/A (V-rated) tire was tested against the competition on identical wheels and vehicles. The result? The Traction T/A (V-rated) was ranked number one in the High Performance All-Season tire category receiving superior and excellent rankings across the board.

Utilizing a 2003 BMW 330Ci coupe, the Tire Rack test team conducted a Real World Road Ride and Performance Track Drive, comparing the BFGoodrich Traction T/A (V), Bridgestone Potenza RE950 (V) and Yokohama Avid V4s. Using new, full tread depth tires (size 225/50R16) the team used 16x7.5-inch AT Italia Type 5 wheels designed to clear the larger front brakes on some of the E46 chassis BMWs, including the 330Ci. Tire Rack also tested the original equipment 205/50R17 Goodyear Eagle RS-A High Performance All-Season tires mounted on factory 17x7.0-inch wheels.

The Traction T/A is the next-generation in all-season touring and sports car tire technology and incorporates advanced design and performance elements that allow it to reach segments previously covered by seven different BFGoodrich tire lines. Designed for touring and sports car drivers looking for superior wet and dry traction, responsive handling and excellent treadlife.

Traction T/A will be original equipment on the base 2005 Ford Mustang, Chrysler Pacifica and Honda CR-V among others and will be available in a variety of sizes fitting a majority of passenger vehicles. The Traction T/A H- and V- rated tires come with BFGoodrich's 60,000-mile warranty, while the T-rated version is covered by a 70,000-mile warranty.
