BFGoodrich tires will be featured in theatres around the country this summer in the new hit film, XXX: State of the Union. The new movie hits theatres nationwide on April 29. In the original XXX, a blockbuster 2002 hit from Revolution Studios that combined spy thriller action with spectacular driving stunts, Vin Diesel drove a classic Pontiac GTO that rolled on BFGoodrich Radial T/A® tires — the perfect choice for a vintage muscle car with modern performance. XXX: State of the Union, the sequel from Revolution Studios, has a new cast of characters, with Ice Cube as the new XXX and Willem Dafoe and Xzibit in supporting roles and Samuel L. Jackson returning as XXX's handler. "The first XXX movie received a lot of attention from the automotive industry because of its unique vehicles," said Thom Peebles, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. "The sequel features even more vehicles and our g-Force™ T/A® tires, which gives us the opportunity to showcase them in front of a very large summer movie audience." The real vehicular star of the movie is a replica of the silver-on-silver Ford Shelby Cobra concept that made its debut at the 2004 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Mich. The concept Cobra rode on BFGoodrich tires and so does the movie version. Because the original concept car was a priceless one-off, producers received permission from Ford to build four replicas for the film — all equipped with BFGoodrich tires.
