May 25, 2003 BFGoodrich® Continues Heritage of Using Racing To Improve Products for Consumers
Greenville, SC
In 1976, BFGoodrich® introduced the world's first performance light-truck radial, the Radial All-Terrain T/A®. To prove the durability and reliability of radials in off-road conditions, the engineers put the tire to the toughest test they could find: off-road racing.
Since then, the BFGoodrich brand has continued the tradition of racing the tires it sells to the public and using motorsports as a breeding ground for future technologies.
Following is a list of tires that competitors use in the CORR Lucas Oil Series:
- All-Terrain T/A® KO - The latest generation of the world's first performance off-road radial offers improved traction, durability and tread life. Like its predecessors, the new tire features the BFGoodrich brand's patented three-ply TriGard® construction for exceptional bruise resistance and strength in the sidewall.
- Mud-Terrain T/A® KM - Like its predecessors, the latest generation mud-terrain performer has earned its stripes in competition. It features the BFGoodrich TriGard sidewall construction and a go-anywhere tread design for excellent performance crawling over rocks and negotiating the most grueling off-road conditions.
- Mud-Terain T/A® KR
- This is the brand's experimental tire for the CORR Series and features exceptionally heavy-duty construction and specialty compounds. It is used as a test bed for developing technologies for future BFGoodrich light-truck tires.
Radial Long-Trail T/A®
Used primarily by competitors in the buggy classes, this tire offers excellent traction and handling, as well as the durability short-course off-road racers need.
BFGoodrich® tires, made for people looking to take control of the driving experience, combine technological expertise with the experience gained in motorsports to offer a traction advantage for almost every type of vehicle and driving preference.
