June 8, 2004 BFGoodrich® Tires Outperforms During Weekend Of Off-Road Racing; Pflueger, Lovell and Mazzoni Take Top Honors Greenville, S.C. BFGoodrich® Tires outperformed the competition scoring convincing wins in the SCORE Baja 500 desert race in Ensenada, Mexico and the UROC West Rock Crawling competition in Barstow, Calif. 
With more than 300 entries from the United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan, BFGoodrich Tires successfully defended its SCORE Tecate Baja 500 record by winning 13 out of 14 classes including the Jeep Speed spec tire class. After the dust had settled and the checkered flag had fallen, the top 16 finishers were riding on BFGoodrich Baja T/A® tires.Alan Pflueger completed the difficult course in nine hours, four minutes and five seconds taking home the overall championship and scoring his first win of the 2004 season in the premier Trophy Truck class. Troy Herbst and Larry Roeseler took home first place in Class 1 saying, "We are very, very happy to be here. With so much dust, it was tough." The team's class win marked the third year in a row the two have finished first in the competitive Class 1. 
Rock CrawlingTeams competing on BFGoodrich tires had an outstanding weekend at the UROC West Rock Crawling event in Barstow, Calif. Riding on BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tires, Brad Lovell won the Modified Class with Peter Mazzoni clinching the Super Modified Class victory. Mazzoni's spotter, Mike Shaffer, also doubles as a regular in the UROC Pro National Series. Kelly Clifford, despite finishing eighth, continues to improve as one of the only women competitors in the Super Modified Class. Clifford, with the help of her spotter/husband Lance Clifford, recorded the top score on day two, besting all competitors including the eventual winner.
