July 14, 2003 BFGoodrich® Tires Outperform At SCORE Henderson's Terrible 250; New 39-Inch Trophy Baja T/A® KR Tire Wins Overall Victory In Debut Henderson, NV Competitors using BFGoodrich® tires won 14 out of 15 victories at the annual SCORE Henderson's Terrible 250 in Henderson, Nevada with Tim and Ed Herbst and the Terrible Herbst Trophy Truck taking overall honors on the company's new 39-inch Baja T/A® KR test tire. With the completion of the Terrible 250, BFGoodrich improved on its winning ways securing yet another overall title in the 2003 SCORE desert racing season. "This race was about endurance, durability and the ability to beat the heat," said Jeff Cummings, off-road motorsports manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "We proved this weekend that our tires are not only capable, but continue to exceed racer's as well as our own expectations on the course." For the first time in competition, a team raced on the company's new 39-inch Baja T/A KR race tire. The new tire, which is being tested for use in future competition features a larger air chamber for greater potential shock absorption, a key element in maximizing speed and suspension performance in the larger Trophy Truck class. With the overall win on the test BFGoodrich 39-inch Baja T/A KR tires, the Herbst racing team collected their 10th victory in the featured SCORE Trophy-Truck division, making them the winningest team in the 10-year, 60-race history of SCORE's high-tech, unlimited production truck class. BFGoodrich routinely tests new tires in the most severe conditions enabling the company to pursue the limits of new designs and technology. In addition to the new tire, teams utilized 37-inch BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR, Baja T/A, Mud Terrain and All Terrain T/A tires to navigate the more than 238-mile off-road course. The next SCORE series race will be the 8th annual SCORE Las Vegas PRIMM 300 in Primm, Nevada. BFGoodrich engineers and technicians were on-hand to provide tire services, pit support, radio communications and maps.
