The brand has clinched the NOPI Drag Racing Association's (NDRA) championship for the second year in a row.
"We race to win and this victory is particularly meaningful because it was done on BFGoodrich street-legal drag radials," said Todd Steen, Motorsports Marketing Manager "We're extremely pleased with the results of the tire on the track and are happy to be a part of one of the world's most popular sport-compact drag racing circuit."In addition to clinching the NDRA championship, BFGoodrich's Comp T/A® Drag Radial has set a new world record for the fastest time on a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved tire. Paul Efantis recently used his Toyota Supra to set a new world record in the NDRA BFGoodrich Pro Street Class by ripping off an 8.36-second pass at 166.7 miles-per-hour. With the world record, Efantis scored his seventh straight drag racing victory within the NDRA and beat his own previous record. "Not only has BFGoodrich scored its second consecutive tire championship, but they have done it in record-setting fashion," said Michael Meyers, president of NOPI. "BFG brings their best to the track each week and it has certainly added to the excitement of NOPI's The Fast And The Furious series." BFGoodrich Tires is in its second year as sponsor of the BFGoodrich Pro Street Tires class which is made up of professional drivers from across the country. The BFGoodrich Comp T/A Drag Radial is the world's first DOT-approved street legal drag radial. This unique tire, which has received praise for its ability to "race on Sunday and drive on Monday", was designed to deliver broader peak performance during launch while providing unmatched traction and control at the strip. The fully streetable tire most recently grew in size when the brand added six 18-inch sizes to the line. The six new sizes include: P245/40R18, P265/40R18, P275/35R18, P295/35R18, P315/30R18 and P345/30R18. With the new sizes, the g-Force T/A Drag Radial lineup now offers 13 dimensions, including three 14-inches, two 15-inch, two 17-inch and the six 18-inch sizes. The NDRA is the governing body of the NOPI The Fast and the Furious Racing Series, the newest and most innovative sport-compact drag racing series. The NDRA was the collaboration of NOPI executives after they saw a high interest from the company's young customers for something more out of the NOPI NATIONALS Motorsports Supershow. BFGoodrich® Tires, made for people looking to take control of the driving experience, combine technological expertise with the knowledge gained in motorsports to offer a traction advantage for almost every type of vehicle and driving preference.
