BFGoodrich® Tires Trackside -- Weekly Racing Update
Greenville, S.C.

Each week, BFGoodrich® Tires provides highlights of the past week's racing including oval, road, drag racing and various off-road series results. In addition, This Week at BFGoodrich Tires highlights upcoming events.

Best In The Desert
BFGoodrich scored 11 class wins and took the overall victory at the Baja Mex 300 Best In The Desert race.

One of the most interesting stories was Larry Roeseler's Unlimited Class 7 victory. Roeseler completed the entire 300-mile race on the same set of BFGoodrich Baja T/A® KR tires that he used to complete the recent Vegas To Reno race.

"The Baja T/A KR has developed a reputation as a performer and survivor in off-road racing," said Jeff Cummings, off-road motorsports manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "More than 800 miles on one set of tires is a remarkable achievement considering the severity of the terrain at both courses."

Trans-Am Road Racing Series
Scott Pruett continued to impress on his way to a third Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup recording his sixth victory of the 2003 season at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI.

With the victory, Jaguar clinches its third manufacturer's championship with the previous victories coming in 1978 and 2001. Pruett increased his points lead to 44 over second place Johnny Miller. The next Trans-Am Series race is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 31 at the Centrix Grand Prix of Denver. That race will air on tape-delayed basis on SPEED on Monday (Labor Day) at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

American Speed Association
Ohio native Robbie Pyle scored his second career ASA win by leading the final 101 laps to win the Erie 250 at Lake Erie Speedway on Sunday. The victory is especially sweet as Pyle has finished second three times this season.

After 13 of 17 events, Kevin Cywinski saw his points lead shrink to 102 over second place ASA veteran Butch Miller. ASA racers head to Elko Speedway in Elko, MN September 1. The race will air live at 2:30 p.m. on SPEED.
