September 27, 2003 BFGoodrich® Tires Conquers 2003 UROC SuperCrawl Jeff Mello, Jon Bundrant Bring Home Championship For Team BFGoodrich Greenville, S.C. Staying true to its tagline, BFGoodrich® Tires today "took control" of the Second Annual United Rock Crawling & Off-Road Challenge (UROC) with two first-place finishes in St. George, Utah. Jeff Mello and Jon Bundrant took home crowns with wins in the Unlimited and Super Stock classes at SuperCrawl II - rock crawling's ultimate event. The victory marks yet another solid performance for Team BFGoodrich, the sport's most dominant player in tires.
Driving a 2002 modified VW bug, Jon Bundrant, the current 2003 UROC Unlimited Series winner, clinched the lead and victory with the help of his spotter Larry McRae. Bundrant, from Hemet, Calif., also won the 2003 ProROCK series championship in the Unlimited class. In the Super Stock class Jeff Mello, 2002 ProROCK champion in the Modified Stock class, was supported in his victory by his spotter Kevin Carey. Mello hails from Danville, Calif."Our tires have established a solid reputation for excellence among rock-crawling competitors, and this victory in the Super Stock and Unlimited classes for the UROC SuperCrawl Championship underscores that perfectly," said Thom Peebles, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires.
