October 21, 2003 BFGoodrich® Tires Trackside -- Weekly Racing Update Greenville, SC Each week, BFGoodrich® Tires provides highlights of the past week's racing including oval, road, drag racing and various off-road series results. American Speed Association (ASA) Joey Clanton passed Glenn Allen Jr. with 49 laps remaining and went on to capture the BFGoodrich Traction T/A Tires 300 Sunday at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. While Clanton recorded his 14th career win, Kevin Cywinski captured his second ASA championship with a ninth-place finish. Cywinski finished the year in convincing fashion clinching the championship by 140 points over second place Butch Miller. Cywinski was the 1996 ASA rookie of the year and captured his first title in 1997. "It's great to win a championship with a new car owner and a lot of new crew members," Cywinski said. "There are a lot different emotions in winning a second championship." Georgia driver Reed Sorenson captured the $50,000 Pat Schauer Memorial Rookie of the Year honors.
