Rocking out with 2005 UROC Super Modified Champion Shannon Campbell
GREENVILLE, S.C.

Gilbert, Arizona's very own Shannon Campbell is one of the Rockcrawling world's top drivers. In 2005 he was UROC Super Modified Class Champion and he was named Driver of the Year by DirtSport magazine. He says he owes his winning ways to his BFGoodrich® tires.

How did you first get into rockcrawling?
"I began by just messing around with some friends who owned a 4-wheel shop. We just threw a buggy together and entered the Top Truck Challenge. I won the 1st RCAA event and the last one before the merger (with UROC)."

How long have you been racing with BFGoodrich® tires on your rig?
"I began using BFGoodrich tires three years ago, and it's made a huge difference. They're the best tire I've ever run.

We had the best cars out there, the newest too, but we weren't winning. The competition was so tough, that we'd only win because of other driver's mistakes. I'd rather win, than get lucky and win, you know? As soon as we started using BFGoodrich tires we started winning them all. There was a night & day difference."

What do you get out of rockcrawling? Why do you do it?
"I like the excitement of Rockcrawling. At the last event in Cedar City we petered out halfway up the hill and spiraled into a rut. I hit reverse and turned over. We managed to shoot back up there and made it. That's the excitement."

Where is your favorite spot to rockcrawl?
"I like the natural courses better, I used to love Becky's, near Jellico, Tennessee, and I like Firebird (Raceway), my home course. Cedar City is also one of my favorite spots."
