November 3, 2004 BFGoodrich® Tires Launches 18-inch Tire For Dually Trucks; New Shoes For Heavy-Duty Pick-Ups Give Owners New Option Las Vegas, NV BFGoodrich® Tires has launched a new tire aimed specifically at "dually" trucks. The BFGoodrich Commercial T/A® All-Season tire is now being offered in an 18-inch dimension (size: LT235/65R18) custom designed to give owners a new option when customizing their trucks. The new tire is the world's first 18-inch tire specifically designed to fit dual-rear-wheeled pick-up trucks. "This is the perfect tire for people looking to upgrade from the original equipment 16-inch tires and wheels that are commonly found on dually trucks," said Gary Enterline, light-truck category manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "Until now, owners of these trucks were limited in terms of what type of tires they could put on their truck because of the load rating and towing capacity. The new Commercial T/A All-Season tire addresses both issues while giving a truck a custom look." The tire, a Commercial T/AAll-Season size LT235/65R18, is designed as a plus-two fitment size to replace the LT225/75R16 LRD or LRE and the LT215/85R16 LRD or LRE currently offered for duely pick-up trucks. These sizes are most popular on full-size heavy duty trucks with dual rear wheels. "There is a great opportunity in the replacement market for larger diameter tires for dual-rear-wheeled trucks," said Thom Peebles, BFGoodrich Tires brand director. "Not only does this tire look great, it does not sacrifice load capability." Sixteen-inch tires have been available as original equipment on dually trucks for more than ten years.
