November 4, 2003 BFGoodrich® Tires To Launch World's First 18-inch Tire Designed For Full-Sized Dual-Rear-Wheeled Pick-Up Trucks Las Vegas NV NOTE: Please be aware that the BFGoodrich Roadside Assistance and Adventure Assurance warranty programs are discontinued as of December 31, 2004. BFGoodrich® Tires is developing the world's first 18-inch tire specifically designed to fit dual-rear-wheeled pick-up trucks better known as a "Dually." The new tire is scheduled to hit dealerships in mid-2004. The new tire, a Commercial T/A® All-Season size LT235/65R18, is designed as a plus-two fitment size to replace the LT225/75R16 LRD or LRE and the LT215/85R16 LRD or LRE currently offered for dually pick-up trucks. The sizes are most popular on full-size heavy-duty trucks with dual rear wheels. "There is a great opportunity in the replacement market for larger diameter tires for dual-rear-wheeled trucks," said Thom Peebles, BFGoodrich Tires brand director. "Not only does this tire look great, it does not sacrifice load capability." Sixteen-inch tires have been available as original equipment on dually trucks for more than 10 years. The addition of the new 18-inch Commercial T/A All-Season gives owners the option of adding a new custom look to their truck. The Commercial T/A All-Season delivers unmatched all-season traction, load handling and long tread life. In fact, it is the brand's first commercial light-truck tire to come with a manufacturer's 50,000-mile limited tread-life warranty. The tire includes CoolWedgeTM shoulder inserts to enhance cooling, which prolongs life on the road. The all-season tread design is derived from the brand's heavy-truck tire line that is used daily on semi trailers around the world. The Commercial T/A All-Season tire is backed by the BFGoodrich® Tires' Roadside Assistance Program. The unique program provides 24-hour help 365 days a year in the United States or Canada for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. The BFGoodrich Tires Roadside Assistance Program applies only to tires purchased within the United States.
