December 30, 2004 Are We There Yet?; BFGoodrich® Tires Set To Star In New Comedy Premiering In January Greenville, SC BFGoodrich® tires will be making their return to the big screen next month when the new Revolution Studios comedy "Are We There Yet?" starring Ice Cube premiers in theatres around the country. Ice Cube stars as a smooth-operating bachelor intent on maintaining his bachelorhood until he loses his heart to single-mother Suzanne, played by Nia Long. The fun begins when he embarks on a road trip with her two comically antagonistic kids in his brand new custom Lincoln Navigator fitted with 24-inch BFGoodrich g-Force T/A®KDW tires on massive chrome rims. Neither the Navigator nor Ice Cube's character will be the same again. BFGoodrich tires were the natural choice for Ice Cube's ultra-cool "Are We There Yet?" SUV as the brand has been recognized as one of the leaders in plus-size tires. "BFGoodrich tires are one of the leaders in dub fitments, especially for SUVs as they offer the perfect combination of looks and performance," said Thom Peebles, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. "BFGoodrich tires have appeared in countless music videos and have been selected by numerous celebrities and professional athletes for their customized vehicles." In preparing for new films, movie studios are doing significant amounts of research to find the right products to make the film as realistic as possible. BFGoodrich tires are often selected because they are recommended by key influencers in the industry including event and show organizers. In addition, the perfect combination of looks and performance make the brand's tires not only attractive to consumers, but to studio vehicle designers building vehicles for inclusion in the next big screen blockbuster. BFGoodrich Tires' selection for use on the Lincoln Navigator in Are We There Yet? is based upon the brand's experience and list of plus-size tire "firsts" including the first 24-inch tire, the first 22-inch tire designed specifically for the HUMMER H2, the first sport compact dub the first 20-inch tire designed specifically for popular sport compacts like the Honda Civic, Mini and VW Golf. In addition, BFGoodrich tires were chosen by P. Diddy for his designer Sean Jean Lincoln Navigator. A Non-Traditional Marketing Tool "Movies play a large role in establishing or furthering trends by reaching key target consumers," says Scott Dishman, communications manager for BFGoodrich Tires. "This is just another way in which we can reach large audiences of consumers and influence their tire purchase decision." Picking the right movie can make all the difference. BFGoodrich Tires has been involved in a number of films where the star of the movie has often been the vehicle. "We look for opportunities to feature our tires in films where the vehicle plays a central role," says Dishman. More than 70 percent of the U.S. population rents or goes to movies regularly, thus accounting for over 1.5 billion movie attendances each year. That number grows larger as more and more U.S. films are premiered around the world. "That's a very big number, especially when you play a role in the right movie with the right product," said Dishman. "Are We There Yet?" rolls into theaters January 28, 2005.
