Hard to beat!!!

By Trl R8d

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

I have driven all over the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, specifically the San Juan range in the Silverton, Telluride, Ouray, Lake City area on multiple occasions, the trails of Moab Utah, crossed the Sand Dunes, been all through the Black Hills and Badlands of South Dakota, done countless Forest Service, dirt, and gravel backroads of the Midwest, and driven tens of thousands of miles of pavement in between, all on the SAME set of these tires without a single issue!

For those not familiar, this includes about everything you could possibly put a tire through including various types of rock, sand, dirt, mud, sticks, brush, tree limbs, logs, water crossings, snow, ice, rain, high altitude, low altitude, extreme heat, cold, and of course A LOT of pavement conditions...and I've never been stuck, stranded, slid out, hydroplaned, or any of the other crazy things claimed by other reviewers...not even a flat!

Mine have not cupped or worn uneven because I keep them properly inflated on the pavement, properly aired down off road, do a proper 5 tire rotation every 5k miles, and keep them properly road force balanced. They have served me so well that i kept them when I traded my 08 Jeep Wrangler in on a 14 model and am currently TRYING to wear them out because they are getting too aged. It will be a sad day when I have to finally remove them because they have taken me soooo many places and provided priceless fun! Not to worry though because I have another set already waiting to take over where these leave off!

I have had multiple other mud and all terrain tires over the years and these have to be one of the best combination of quiet road worthy and aggressive off road tires you can get. As far as I'm concerned, this is the tire that should say "all terrain" on the side of it from BFG. To be fair, the only thing that could make it better would be if the tread was siped for improved hard pack snow and ice conditions, other than that, don't change a thing!

I truely believe that if you made these tires in larger sizes to satisfy all the "mall-crawler" types out there, you would see less negative reviews which I honestly think come from people just looking to "justify" getting rid of these for huge, unnecessarily large "cooler looking" tires.

I highly recommend these to anyone that needs a aggressive off road tire that still has street manners unless you are into extreme buggy type off roading and that is only because they are not made in larger sizes. Period!

Terrible Tire Wear @20,000 miles

By Matt

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

On my Jeep Rubicon I have the 255/75 R17 BF Goodrich Mud Tires. Terrible wear. The Front tires nearly loss most tread, both lugs wearing unevenly with bad steering.

I have the choice of replacing the two front tires, or all four tires, probably in a different brand.

I have had five jeeps, two of them with mud BF Goodrich tires, three with BF Goodrich AT's with great experiences. But never have I seen a problem tire like what I have now. Very unfortunate.

No Wet Traction

By BUCKEYEFAN

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

Stock rubber on my 2015 JK Rubi. These tires are average on pavement and off-road (mud, dirt no rocks) and AWFUL on wet pavement. I mean they have absolutely ZERO wet traction. It is not like the JK has an inordinate amount of power coming out of the rear end, but even with 4dw HI activated, they still slide around on wet pavement. I would never purposely buy this tire and probably not touch the KM2 either.
