Noisy and cupped around 30000 mi

By WayneHNc

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

Tires came on new 2013 Rubicon Unlimited. Had no complaints for first 20000 mi and about 7000 mi towed behind motorhome. I rotated all 5 tires about every 7000 miles including estimates for towing. I started hearing whop-whop-whop and noticed the first tire that had completed two rotation cycles as a front tire had adjacent lugs ranging from 5/32 to 8/32 tread. Other tires ranged 7-9, 7-11, and 9-10. Spare had a uniform 12/32.

Jeep is headed for Silverton, CO, so I put on a new set of KM's since I trust them in the rocks. Tires are great for off road, but I can't imagine anyone getting 80K miles out of them. I consider it a great 30K mile tire.

Very good all purpose mudder

By JB

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

I've purchased a new Rubicon 2door 4/10/2015. These are the stock tires. I put a 1.5 inch spring leveling kit on it and when the opportunity arose I took it through the paces in south east Oklahoma. It has been El Nino weather here for 2 weeks in May and off the beaten path is very washed out and very swamped. I ran through a 10mile stretch of public hunting land with roads that are nothing more than ruts cut through the land and these tires handled deep mud (some creek bottom silt axle deep), sharp rock (resisted sidewall cutting very well), and some very sticky clay.
They clean out well and grabbed onto wet, jagged rock very well. I will consider another set of these if I choose not to go up in diameter.
My only complaint is that there is no siping in the lugs (they will slide on wet asphalt under hard braking).

Disappointing Tread Life and Noise

By Kyser

from USA

Comments about Mud-Terrain T/A KM:

These tires came standard on my 2014 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. I like the looks / styling but after 10K miles they began to get loud and have continued to the point where it is difficult to have a conversation with someone in the vehicle. The hands free phone is useless while the vehicle is moving. I currently have less than 30K on them and they have been rotated 3 times. The tread wear is extremely uneven and I am now looking to replace them. My coworker has another size (different tread design) BFG mud terrain tire on his Chevrolet PU and was able to achieve very even and long tread wear. I have always had good luck with BFG products but I will consider other brands for my Jeep.
