Sidewall Separation

By John

from USA

Comments about Rugged Trail T/A:

These were the original tires that came with my 2013 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. At 16000 miles I noticed the sidewall starting to separate where it fuses to the tread section on two of the tires. I'm an Engineer and perform a lot of Root Cause Analysis, and this is definitely a material or process issue from the manufacture of the tires. BFG won't cover them under warranty saying there has been a sidewall rub. Seriously! It's supposed to be off-road capable and it can't handle a sidewall rub. The separation was there before the rub occurred. Up until now, I have been a fan of the BFG Trail TA series tires, having used them exclusively on every truck I have had since the late 1990s. Since BFG no longer stands behind their product, I will no longer be buying their product.

Great Tire, Last long

By Knute

from USA

Comments about Rugged Trail T/A:

These tires came stock with my 2013 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4. I had the A/T's before on a previous truck and orginally wanted the A/T's on my new truck. I decided becasue I drive more than the typical person for work and adventures that I'll hold out until I need a new set of tires for my Truck.
I give these tires a solid 9 out of 10. Currently as I'm looking for a new set of tires I have 66,000 miles on them. I rotate the tires every 5000-6000 miles when I change the oil and I do my best to take care of them.
The tires performed amaizingly in the snow, I never has a issue during storms and unplowed roads. They were just as good as my A/T tires with my past truck from what I can remember. They also were great on wet roads, and dirt roads while driving to camps in remote places. I never had a grip issue. The only problem I have with the tires is a problem I believe you'll get with every tire while they are on their last leg. There is a small vibration (still drives stright) on the highway, I was told this is just becasue I've pretty much used all the wear on them in my 66,000 miles. Seems I got every bit out of them that I could.
That being said it's time for a new set, I do believe I'm going to upgrade to the All Terrians that I had before like I said, but if the price is right this tire is a sure thing and I wanted to share my experience with these tires. Also this is my 3rd set of BF Goodrich tires I've had and about to buy my 4th. I have zero complains about the company and their products. They always have given me a great tire that last!

Extremely disappointed

By GPa

from USA

Comments about Rugged Trail T/A:

OEM Nissan Frontier Pro X4: 2012
This is my wife's daily driver. She is past full retirement age and drives on pavement and rarely any place with a speed limit over 45mph.
The truck has 31,000 miles and the tires are bald. Have had two previous F150s with Goodrich OEM tires that ran to the 7x,xxx range. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.
