              These tires came as OE on my 2008 Mustang Bullitt. At 33,000 miles, they really didn't need to be replaced but I got a great deal on a new set and just switched them out. The new ones are much quieter and the grip is amazing. Very happy with them and especially with the lateral grip.

              tread cracks 255/50r17

                    owned this 1996 impala SS since Nov 1995. never had any issues with these tires except they wear out at 35,000mi. the tires are rotated every 6,ooomi.

                    In 2007 I installed the 3rd set of tires. in 2010 the tread cracked on one tire between the inner and outer treads all along the rolling surface. tire was replaced warr adjustment.

                    now sept 2012 2 tires have the same exact defect in the same exact tread area.

                    for some reason the one tire purchased in 2007 has no cracking anywhere. the tires that had cracks only did so on the tread.

                    Side walls etc look new , perfect looking , that to see tread cracks is quite a surprise .

                    tires that now failed have 15,000mi .
                    Vehicle has 70,000mi and is in perfet condition

                          WARNING: Serious or fatal injury may result from tire failure due to underinflation or overloading. To ensure correct air pressure and vehicle load, refer to vehicle owner's manual or tire information placard on the vehicle. Serious injury or death may result from explosion of tire/rim assembly due to improper mounting. Only tire professionals should mount tires and they should never inflate beyond 40 psi to seat the beads. Before mixing types of tires in any configuration on any vehicle, be sure to check the vehicle owner's manual for its recommendations.

                          DANGER: Never mount a 16" diameter tire on a 16.5" rim.
                          DANGER: Never mount a 17" diameter tire on a 17.5" rim.

                          Inflation pressure increase must not exceed the maximum pressure branded on the tire sidewall. When a customer requests a replacement tire with a lower speed rating than the original equipment tire, you must clearly communicate to him or her that the handling of the vehicle may be different, and that its maximum speed capability is limited to that of the lowest speed-rated tire on the vehicle. Exceeding the lawful speed limit is neither recommended nor endorsed.

                          For high-speed driving, additional inflation pressure and possibly reduced tire loading and/or upsizing is required. In the absence of specific recommendations by the vehicle manufacturer, use the following guidelines based on those in the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization Standards Manual.

                          For speeds over 160km/h (100 mph), load and inflation must be adjusted according to the table below.

                          • You need to know your vehicle's options to find out the original size of the tires for your vehicle because automobile manufacturers often use different wheel and tire sizes for different variations of a specific vehicle.If you do not know your vehicle's options, check one of these places:<br><br>1. The original sales invoice or window sticker when you bought the vehicle. <br>2. Your vehicle's Owner's Manual, which will sometimes identify your vehicle's options.<br>3. Look on the vehicle itself. Some vehicles have a decal or lettering that indicates the options located on the side or rear of the vehicle.

                          • Find the exact tire quickly using your tire size. Check your owner's manual or tire sidewall to find the required specifications.

                            Knowing your tire size can help save time at the tire retailer. It also enables you to make an informed tire purchase.<br><br>You can find your vehicle's original equipment tire size in one of the following places:<br>1. On the tire placard located on the driver's door jamb <br>2. In your owners manual<br>3. On glove compartment door<br> 4. Inside the fuel hatch or trunk lid<br><br>You can also check your existing tire's designation on the sidewall.                           • You can determine your tire type by looking at the tire's designation on the sidewall of your tire. The following describes the differences between the tire type designations:<br><br> P-Metric: A uniform designation of tire sizes in metric measurements. A typical P-Metric tire is P205/70R14 93S. <br><br>European Metric: This system was a conversion of the numeric system from inches to millimeters. The aspect ratio appears in the size designation in most cases where it is other than 82. A typical European Metric tire is 185/70R14 88S <br><br>Light Truck-Metric: This system is used for light truck tires, and it mirrors the P-Metric system used for passenger tires. A typical Light Truck-Metric tire is LT245/75R16 120R. <br><br>Light Trucl High Flotation: This type is for light truck tires with lower sidewalls and wider treads that yield better traction on surfaces such as sand and soft soil found in watery, off-road situations. A typical tire is 31X10.50R15 LT LRC
