Tire separation

        Comments about Rugged Terrain T/A:

Purchased a full set (6 tires) of Rugged Terrain T/A LT235/80R17's for a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500, and around 20,000 highway (unloaded -- truck weight only) miles on this set, the front tires were cupping and wearing on the sides. Truck was taken to alignment shop under the impression it was possibly out of alignment .. which it was not. Purchased 2 more new Rugged Terrain T/A LT235/80R17 and replaced front 2 tires. Truck drove great for 2 weeks and began vibrating and pulling in one direction again. Took truck to alignment shop for second time and once again it was not out of alignment. Service technician noticed right front tire had a bulge and referred me back to tire dealer. Upon inspection of "new" right front tire ... with less than 2,000 highway (unloaded -- truck weight only) miles of wear, it was separating. New left front tire is now cupping again. All tires were inspected and one of the rear tires also has a bulge. Front tire has been replaced with a spare and tire sent back to manufacture over 2 weeks ago. Have heard nothing from manufacture on addressing and fixing the problem. Completely disgusted with these tires and will never purchase them again.

              Comments about Rugged Terrain T/A:

I put a set of these on my 97 F-150 about a year ago and haven't had any problems with them at all. Went from a 235/70R16 to a 255/70R16 for looks/styling/stance and capability. They've performed great on surface streets, highways, and off-road in all kinds of weather. Yes, the ride is stiffer than P-rated tires that were on there and they do hum on the highway, but it's a truck, not a comfy-car. I decided on these rather than the All Terrains because of my budget and I didn't really need a tire quite that aggressive for my daily driver and I couldn't be happier with the decision.

Put Rugged T's on my Tacoma and I liked them so much, I put the same thing on my Land Cruiser. I don't do a lot of wheeling so this is the perfect tire for us. Prolly gonna put the K02 on the Tacoma next cause it's the tire that it is!
