Ratings & Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Performance on 1998 Chevy k1500 Good tire for this truck, good handling on snow and ice. Had them on the truck for 36.000 miles and are now on the wear limit. I expected to last me at least for 50K as the warranty claims.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rugged terrain T/A I bought a set of 4 Rugged Terrain T/A 245/75/16 for my Tahoe at Walmart in April 2019 . Since then I have only put 2200 miles in the tires. The are great tires in the summer and perform well off road. However today was my first chance to try them on snow and ice. 20 Montana morning with lots of snow and ice in the roads, I must say the tires performed horrible. Rarely in the past have I had to use 4x4 with the Tahoe in town but today I had to just to get around and stopping was no better. I don't know if the tires are too stiff or not enough sipong in the tread. Would not recommend for cold weather. Jim

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very impressed i bought these to replace my Goodyear wranglers. only 25,000 miles on them. were starting to dry riot (cracking). Radial pull they called it. Never were right. As soon as i drove off the lot i could tell the difference. No more pulling to the left like my other tires were doing. And yes, had alignments, radial pull they called it. warrenty $40 off one tire. Told them to forget it. Got these instead! Better ride, smoother and more sure turning. Had the T\A on my Camaro years ago. They were a very good tire even back then. I know these are truck tires. I am hoping i will be just a happy with them. So far very pleased. My only complaint is with Walmart. 45 PSI in my tires. I always check other peoples work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. Had a ton of snow and ice this winter and it ran great on both. Run BFG A/T's on my 2wd F-150. These T/A's are not as good as the A/T's in the snow in 2wd, but I have the T/A 's on my 4wd Tahoe. For the money I would say the T/A is a better value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive tire for the price! I’ve had these tires about 4 months now & I’ve probably put 3-4K miles on them. I gotta say I’m very impressed so far. Quiet, grip, they look really great, & most of all they impressed me on wet/icy roads. They grip extremely well on rainy days. Perform just as good as higher end tires. Off-road performance they did very well. I live where there is clay mud & they clean theirseves very well. Will be buying another set when these wear out. Will update on how many miles I get out of them. 2002 Silverado reg cab 5.3.
Date published: 2019-03-03
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great quiet highway ride, but not for winter. Tires get extremely stiff in cold weather and loose most traction. If there is no sand or stone down on snow you will be like me and slide through 1in 3 stop signs at under 5 mph. 2nd winter in Montana. Its been much colder this year. 5-20 degree high for Jan-Feb. Warm weather is great as they are super quiet at highway speeds and in rain.
Date published: 2019-02-26
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good tire for the money I bought these for my chevy Silverado and they aren't bad. They seem like they spin and try to dig in snow but that usually means more sliding. No flats but getting to where I'll have to buy new tires before winter and change from these.
Date published: 2018-10-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tire I have had so far. I put over 120,000 miles on these and they were great. I had them on my Toyota FJ Cruiser.
Date published: 2018-09-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tires Bought a new Tacoma with these on in April 2015 and now have 93,000 miles on these tires. Quiet on the road. Smooth ride. Some off-road. No leaks, no flats. Worked ok in snow (4 wheel). Looking for an equal replacement.
Date published: 2018-07-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tires Love these tires, only problem I had was Walmart left the center cap on one wheel loose. Couldn't find the noise, then figure it out. Tires are great
Date published: 2018-06-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from No issues Had these tires for several years now on a 2500 Dodge. No issues, quiet ride, even wear when rotated. They are close to worn out now and I expect to last another summer and replace with another set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from happy with the tires Have read the reviews most of people are confused with rugged terrain and rugged trail... name change suggestions for Bfg other wise rugged terrain which I have has been wonderful so far have very good grip on and off-road also quiet... I have not try the snow yet since I live in the south... these tire are not for hauling I have seen negative reviews when people hauling 31' trailer it's not LT grade or 10ply rating.. I think people expected too much from warranty when it only covers 50k you can't expected over 100k on 50k tire I think... please don't discontinue my size I need 265/70/17 lol
Date published: 2017-12-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire and value I bought 4 of these for my 2003 Trailblazer 4x4 and they did everything I asked of them. Never had any issues. I was informed that they were discontinued by BFG so when it came time to replace them after 60k miles I was pleased to find a set at a local Walmart. They were just aggressive enough for trails and smooth enough for the highway. Here's to another 60k!!
Date published: 2017-11-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this tire These tires came stock on my 2013 Tacoma. I have 70,000 miles on it and honestly would feel comfortable going to 75,000+. My dealer said they are no longer in production. Please tell me they're full of it and I can purchase a new set elsewhere.
Date published: 2017-10-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these tires ! I have had these tires on every truck except my 2015 king ranch F150! Because I cannot find them in my size I have 20" wheels can you tell me where I can get them?
Date published: 2017-09-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tires Put on my 2011 Ford F150. Rotated every 10000 Miles and got 70000+ Miles out of them. Started to get a drone around 60000 miles from a flat spot that occurred from slamming on brakes other than that highly recommended
Date published: 2016-02-24
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Average tire Not impressed. I have owned tires for pick up trucks by 6 different manufactures and driven about 500,000 miles over the years. What I don't like about these BFG's on my Ram 1500 would be wet traction. When they were new they were not that great on wet roads and after 7,000 miles they are still poor. It finally snowed where I live and they are not great in light snow either. When it comes to dry roads they like to chirp and sequel where no other tires did that. I hope they last a long time because that will be the only thing to impress me at this point. Above average cost for a average tire so I would not buy them again.
Date published: 2016-01-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 66,000 miles and still going I own a 2004 F250 Super Duty, Crew Cab 4x4. I purchased a set of four tires from Smith Tire in Muskegon Heights, MI in 2012. I am currently at 66 thousand miles and still going. The tires have performed better than expected both off road and on the highway. Prior to the Rugged Terrain tires I had the All-Terrain TA KO. The AT KOs did not last as long and where a lot noisier on the highway. The Rugged Terrain provided me with comparable off road traction and a quieter ride back and forth to work.
Date published: 2016-01-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire so far! I've had these tires for about ~10K miles on my Jeep Wrangler. The tires still looks brand new! I've taken the tires off-road several times and mostly highway driving for my work commute. No complaints on either uses! Off-road, it hasn't failed me yet and provides great traction. On highway, I have the same MPG as my previous all-season tires that had less aggressive tread design.
Date published: 2016-01-08
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would by this tire again! I have 50,000 miles this BFG's. They are on an F250 and I pull skid steers and mini excavators and live in snow country. They are very quiet going down the road and have provided more than adequate traction when I needed it. I will be getting another set for sure. I wish they made more sizes....
Date published: 2015-12-28
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Looks and Handing but Poor Life These tires offer acceptable handling on wet and dry pavement and have an attractive thread pattern however I wasn't able to get anywhere the 50000 mile tread life that they are warrantied for. I rarely go off road so can't comment on the off road handling capabilities of these tires.
Date published: 2015-12-23
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Mileage 22000 miles and many flats later I am buying a new set of tires. And they will not be this tire. Mostly highway driving.
Date published: 2015-12-21
Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT TIRES Well some drivers say bad things ,but I love them. BFgoodrich to me is the best tire out there, I drive for a living. I've got 144,834 miles on this set 172,000 on the last set ,I think that's pretty good. So you could say I AM VERY HAPPY . If they are having problems it must be the DRIVER BEHIND THE WHEEL
Date published: 2015-12-15
Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst lt tire ii bought these tires 2 months ago and put them on my 2008 f250 super duty ,its about 8,000 pounds and i took it on the high way after they where balanced and my whole truck was shaking so bad my mirror looked like a noddle at 80 mph, the torque is killing these super soft tires i have 50% in the rear and fronts are chewed from turning . old slick tires did better and they where 5% off road than these when they where brand new. it was a waste of 1000$ and defiantly not buying them again
Date published: 2015-11-18
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tires never balanced right! I have had these tires on my SuperDuty pickup for two years and the ride has been terrible from day one. I have returned to the dealer and other shops several times for rebalance to no avail. I suspected a tire defect, but received no assistance from the dealer in pursuing that possibility. I am likely to replace them with different tires as soon as possible even though they are only half worn to improve the ride quality.
Date published: 2015-11-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Tire I purchased 4 BFG Rugged Terrain tires 24 months ago for my 2013 Silverado 1500 Reg Cab 4x4 with a 4.8L engine. I just logged 40K miles this week. Due to the nature of my work, I drive on a combination of surfaces - Hwy, dirt roads, fire trails, farm pastures, logging trails, soft white 'sugar' sand road/trails . I've have very good experience with these tires on all these surfaces with regards to traction. These tires have worn very good. They do not show any excessive wear. I rotate my tires at every oil change. I rebalance every 10K miles. Per the chevy dealer that performs my service, I should be able to get another 20K miles on the tires. I am very pleased with this tire.
Date published: 2015-08-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire - quiet on highway, great in snow Put these tires on my 2005 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 access cab (265R/17) 48,000 miles ago, and they still have 5/32", so they'll go at least to their advertised life. This is the most impressive tire I've had an a Toyota truck (on my third). They replaced Han cook DynaPro's which wore out a bit before their rated milage. Great in all conditions, including snow, and they look great on the truck. My friends can't believe how such an aggressive looking tire can also be relatively quiet. Am not saying they're as quiet as a Michelin touring tire, but - it's a truck, after all. I use it as a truck, including taking it into the backcountry. You can talk with all passengers (it's an access cab) in a normal voice. Would definitely recommend it to all users.
Date published: 2015-07-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tire Great tires so far have them on my 2wd ford expedition winter time is know problem they perform great on the pavement and are quite for a all terrain dont think I will get a full 50 thousand miles out of them but they are wearing evenly and really do everything beyond what I thought they would.
Date published: 2015-07-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tire! I put a set of these on my 97 F-150 about a year ago and haven't had any problems with them at all. Went from a 235/70R16 to a 255/70R16 for looks/styling/stance and capability. They've performed great on surface streets, highways, and off-road in all kinds of weather. Yes, the ride is stiffer than P-rated tires that were on there and they do hum on the highway, but it's a truck, not a comfy-car. I decided on these rather than the All Terrains because of my budget and I didn't really need a tire quite that aggressive for my daily driver and I couldn't be happier with the decision.
Date published: 2015-06-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire!! Put Rugged T's on my Tacoma and I liked them so much, I put the same thing on my Land Cruiser. I don't do a lot of wheeling so this is the perfect tire for us. Prolly gonna put the K02 on the Tacoma next cause it's the tire that it is!
