Review Summary

The tires provide good performance, handling, and traction, especially on dry and wet roads. Customers praise the stability, comfort, and low noise levels. However, a recurring issue is the tendency of the white lettering to turn brown over time, even with light use, which many find unacceptable. Some report faster-than-expected wear, durability concerns, and poor value. Overall, the tires offer a good driving experience, but the browning lettering is a significant drawback.

Save your money!

It only took a week after I washed the blue protectant off these tires for them to start turning brown. I had no idea this was happening to everyone until I started looking for ways to clean them. Before I bought these, I had a set of 15 year old Firestones and the RWLs would still get bright white with little effort. I had really high hopes for these tires and they failed miserably.

Great for classics

These tires are great for the classic muscle car. They are the perfect compromise between performance and tread-life and really capture the classic look. I would definately buy again.

BROWN letters. And you never get them clean.

Trusted reviews on here. Your tires will come blue oh, you will never be able to get the blue completely off, and then they will turn brown. It's just a flat-out fact BF Goodrich will not be able to do anything to help you, they will say it is normal, and I'm only leaving this review to add to the growing number of complaints regarding this. Do not buy this tire if unless you are ok with brown lettering.

Browning new tires

I had a BF good rich tires installed and within two days they were turning brown. I was told to clean them with dish soap and water which I have done numerous times now and the brown comes back almost immediately. Tires are just under a month old and look like they’ve been on the car for 10 years. Trying to go through BJ’s first where I purchased the tires and see where that takes me. But I hope all you tire buyers are aware it seems to be a problem with BF good rich tires

Crazy Brown Lettering wrecks the cars look!

Bought new BFG TA radials for my restored 70 camaro and within a month the white lettering had turned brown never to be white again no matter what I clean it with. Even searched out the best detailer in my city and let him have a go at it and they were slightly whiter for about 48 hours and then back to the brown. Should have gone with the Nitto's but had BFG's on it and loved them, these new ones not so much.

Brown White Letters

Finally found something that will turn them white after trying everything. Try Super Clean! Apply full strength scrub with brush and wipe off. Dont know how long they will stay like this but they are white!

Lettering

So I purchased a set of the BF Goodrich tires to compliment my restored truck. After a couple of weeks the lettering turned brown. After complaining to BFG, they actually sent me new tires, cost me $60 to have them put on but.... the new ones we can’t get the blue coating off. After hours of pressure washing, steam washing and many cleaners the blue came off and the letters turned brown again. I guess I’ll pay the guys to dismount the tires and turn the black wall out. Sorely disappointed in BFG, I have purchased my last set of tires from them.

Excellent traction and very reliable!

Ran these on my 1968 GTO (1977-1985) for 8 years with Cragar rims. Looked awesome! These tires never failed me, and survived numerous burnouts, and runs from the law!
