Excellent product

The traction is amazing especially with the ice and a snow. They’re durable so far. The wheel handling has been smooth and there has been low road noise. Great product

Looks Good. Balances Awful (Doesn't)

I bought the KO3s (265/75 16) from Costco for my 2022 Tacoma. After waiting two and a half hours, the technician informed me that the tires were installed but not balanced because my wheels (Method 305 NV) were not OEM. Interestingly, the original tires, Goodyear Wrangler, had been used on the same wheels without any issues. As I left Costco and at about forty miles an hour, my truck shook terribly — both the steering wheel and the seat vibrated. The next day, I returned to Costco, explained the situation, and they said another technician would attempt to balance the tires. After another two hours of waiting, I was told the tires had been balanced, but just a few miles down the road, I realized they weren't balanced at all. On Costco's third attempt, the technician claimed that the tires wouldn't balance because all four of my wheels were bent. What?! Fortunately, I had one of the old Wrangler tires in the bed of my truck. I asked them to put that tire on one of the wheels, and it zeroed out (perfect balance) with just 1 ounce of weight. I explained that I needed to be able to drive my truck over 40 mph. They suggested I take the truck to a tire shop with a Road Force Balancer. I had to wait a week to get an appointment, and when I finally arrived, they confirmed that my wheels were in perfect condition. However, even with a road force balancer, they were unable to balance the tires without using excessive weight — 30 ounces on one wheel! The technician also mentioned that they refused to sell the new KO3 tires due to issues with balancing and quality control. I went back to Costco, asked for a refund and a different tire. The only option to replace the BFGoodrich KO3s was with another BFGoodrich tire. The KO2 was no longer available, and the closest alternative was the Trail-Terrain. After three weeks of back-and-forth, I didn't have much of a choice. I couldn't afford to buy another set of tires, so I had Costco put on the BFGoodrich Trail Terrains. They mentioned that these tires required more weight than they "should" have, but they were able to get them to balance. What a nightmare! I always thought that BFGoodrich was the best of the best; I was clearly mistaken, as many other reviews will confirm. BFGoodrich should be ashamed of itself. I do not recommend this tire at all. If not before, when the Trail-Terrains are worn, I'll replace them with another brand.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear about the challenges you faced with balancing. We understand how frustrating this must have been. BFGoodrich designs its off-road tires with tighter beads to prevent unseating, which is critical when tires are aired down for off-roading. Because of this feature, problems can arise if the tires aren’t seated properly. Even when they appear installed correctly, they may not always be seated uniformly against the wheel edge, which can lead to vibration or balancing issues. We hope you’re enjoying the Trail-Terrain tires. Please don't hesitate to give us a call to discuss further - 866-866-6605 (Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM EST, Sat 9 AM–1 PM EST).

Last Purchase For Me

I was excited when they came out with this tire to put them on my tundra and it has been nothing but frustration and disappointment. Like other reviews have stated on the internet, these tires will not balance and the highway ride is terrible with vibration. I have never had this issue with any other brands. I have had three shops attempt to balance this tires with the same results. So now I basically paid for a tire that has cost me extra money to attempt to balance when their should be no issues in the first place. I only have about 5k on them and I will be getting rid of them soon. Its unacceptable. Purchased through tire rack which I will never do again either with no recourse for an exchange. Just disappointing.

Wore quick

I had these tires on my 3500 and 1500 and loved them. Put them on my 2500 and after 38000 miles they needed to be replaced. Little bit of rain they felt like i was driving on ice. I didnt get my moneys worth and I am not happy about it. BF let me down. I will be looking elsewhere for tires.

Incredible tires and amazing whitewall lettering

Best BFG yet. I have ko2 and now k03 on my Colorado Diesel. They do amazing in snow/ice and are extremely quiet on dry pavement. Smooth as a bell. I know some people had issues with vibration on the K02, but that was definitely fixed with the K03. My favorite part is they made the white raised lettering about 1/4" taller which is more noticeable in aesthetics. White lettering is tough to keep clean, but I found that Detail King whitewall cleaner keeps the lettering looking new. It gets them bright white in about 15 seconds with very little effort. I hid the white lettering in the past because of how tough it was to get them white again, but very happy now

Best tire for Arizona!

Best tire there is for southern Az. Can take these KO3’s down any trail and have confidence you will make it out with no issues. KO2’s were great and now I will continue the legacy with KO3’s

Balance beads ko3

I see lots of reviews complaining about vibration. Some people also had this problem with the ko2s. I’ve had both now and always run balance beads. The rebalance every time the vehicle stops. I drive a 1000 mile trip 4 times a year at 80+ mph. Never had a vibration issue. Wet road handling is much better than the ko2. All around I’m very happy with this new design.
