Review Summary
The tires provide good performance, handling, and traction, especially on dry and wet roads. Customers praise the stability, comfort, and low noise levels. However, a recurring issue is the tendency of the white lettering to turn brown over time, even with light use, which many find unacceptable. Some report faster-than-expected wear, durability concerns, and poor value. Overall, the tires offer a good driving experience, but the browning lettering is a significant drawback.

Raised Brown Letter Tires!
If you have a show car or a car you are proud of, DON’T purchase these tires! I’ve read the recommendation in the FAQ section. No car owner should need to spend hours on the letters before enjoying their car!

Best looking and good steering tire for my application
Been buying Radial TA's since 1983. They provide great summer and winter traction, good steering, quiet operation and boy do they ever look good. Did I mention that they look great!

Good Enough Ride, Brown White Letters Defeat the Purpos
I'm now on my 3rd set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires in 2 years due to the white letters turning brown on each set. At this point I just want my money back as I'm sick of taking the car to the tire shop and having them exchanged. Spent in the neighborhood of 800 dollars for white letter tires for my classic car and I'm not happy. These should have never made it past quality control. The shocking thing is this has been a problem for YEARS now. Contrary to what Customer Service tells you, the problem has NOT been corrected.

Raised Brown Letters
I have owned several sets of BFG Radial TA's throughout the years and had nothing but praise for them. Until now, that is. My latest set seemed different from the day I bought them. The blue protective coating seemed nearly impossible to remove. Then, the white letters just didn't seem to come clean. These tires are on a collector car that stays safely stored in a garage and only gets driven to car shows and cruises. However, after being stored away, the lettering is now stained brown. Also, the black sidewalls are discolored as well. They seem to be oozing some sort of solvent. I've tried every type of cleaner and scrubbing method to no avail. So BFG, what gives? None of the previous versions I've purchased have had this problem. Just a quick search on the internet shows that this is a widespread problem with these tires. The irony of this issue is this. Consumers who buy these particular tires are classic car enthusiasts who take great pride in every detail of their cars. They want to take them to shows and cruises and present them as works of art. Frankly, I'm embarrassed to take my car anywhere with my BF (Brown Font) Goodrich Radial TA's on it. Other enthusiasts look at me in disgust as if I couldn't take 5 minutes to clean my tires! So my question to you is, "How can you market a specialty tire to a certain target group, yet your tire no longer meets that groups need? BTW, I paid much more for this set of BFG's than I did for any previous sets I've owned, yet I've got an inferior product. Is Goodrich doing anything to address this problem or accommodate customers, or would you prefer that loyalists like myself look to other tire manufacturers?

Classic look up to speed tech
Nice tire, back in my day It was common for a weekly freshen up of the white and every parts store had white pencils on the counter tops

Browning Issue Update
I wrote a review about a year ago. Still having browning issues with the tires. Contacted BFG for another case number. My tire dealer talked to them and the best they will do is me paying 30% to replace this set. Based on the continuing negative reviews on these tires and the advise from my dealer, I will just try to clean them the best I can. I use a product called Spray Nine which is a degreaser. Wet a small portion of a towel and rub the letters only. It does clean them up , for a while. The browning does return. I hate to do it but I may have to turn the black wall out. I can’t believe BFG continues to sell a tire that has this problem.

You should call them brown letter tires
I have had 5-6 sets of these tires over the years and always loved them. They ride great and USED to have white letters and looked great. The last set I got, the letters turn brown. I can get them fairly white again but they turn brown, even without driving the car! Unless there is a solution I will look into buying Mickey Thompson’s from now on

the best tire ever
tires went on my ss/96 s10 235/60/15 all the way around they did great at 60,ooo miles with tread still left...except for the backones theres half bald from a tight clutch and a heavy foot only dissapointment was a bubble in one..but hey 60k im good with that time to replace and will return

Handles good. Letters are brown
Literally the second weekend I've had my car out since the tires have been put on. (Put on About a month ago) and the letters are brown. Should of just stuck with Cooper tires, didn't have any issues from their white letters. Hope you all read this and get ahold of me. I want a refund. Absolutely unacceptable for the money I spent on those tires
