Review Summary

The tires provide good performance, handling, and traction, especially on dry and wet roads. Customers praise the stability, comfort, and low noise levels. However, a recurring issue is the tendency of the white lettering to turn brown over time, even with light use, which many find unacceptable. Some report faster-than-expected wear, durability concerns, and poor value. Overall, the tires offer a good driving experience, but the browning lettering is a significant drawback.

Save your money!

It only took a week after I washed the blue protectant off these tires for them to start turning brown. I had no idea this was happening to everyone until I started looking for ways to clean them. Before I bought these, I had a set of 15 year old Firestones and the RWLs would still get bright white with little effort. I had really high hopes for these tires and they failed miserably.

Browning new tires

I had a BF good rich tires installed and within two days they were turning brown. I was told to clean them with dish soap and water which I have done numerous times now and the brown comes back almost immediately. Tires are just under a month old and look like they’ve been on the car for 10 years. Trying to go through BJ’s first where I purchased the tires and see where that takes me. But I hope all you tire buyers are aware it seems to be a problem with BF good rich tires

Very Disappointed!!!

I bought these tires (along with a brand new set of rims) for my 1968 Camaro. I was replacing a set of BFG 60/14 with a set of 60/15. The 60/14 were older tires with little wear (less than 3.5K on the tire). The new tires arrived with brownish letters and after an hour + of scrubbing and cleaning, they barely turned white. Within a two weeks (car not driven and garaged) the letters turned brown again. BFG knows there is a problem but they are not standing by their product. The older 60/14 tires still have the white raised letters that are white and no discoloration at all. This is the LAST set I will ever buy and ever recommend. BGF raised white letter tires were the “hands down standard” for classic hot rods and custom cars. Key Word: WERE

Great for classics

These tires are great for the classic muscle car. They are the perfect compromise between performance and tread-life and really capture the classic look. I would definately buy again.

Constantly turning brown

Bought a full set for my 1965 Mustang just about a year ago. I drive less than 500 miles a year. The car is always garaged. The tires (particularly the raised white letters) turn brown in less than a week after cleaning. Very disappointed. I would like some kind of restitution.

Crazy Brown Lettering wrecks the cars look!

Bought new BFG TA radials for my restored 70 camaro and within a month the white lettering had turned brown never to be white again no matter what I clean it with. Even searched out the best detailer in my city and let him have a go at it and they were slightly whiter for about 48 hours and then back to the brown. Should have gone with the Nitto's but had BFG's on it and loved them, these new ones not so much.

Excellent traction and very reliable!

Ran these on my 1968 GTO (1977-1985) for 8 years with Cragar rims. Looked awesome! These tires never failed me, and survived numerous burnouts, and runs from the law!

White lettering turn brown on 3 out of 4 tires

I bought Bf Goodrich tires for my classic 1969 Mustang back in late 2015, 2 255 - 60 - 15 for a the rear and 2, 215 - 65 - 15 on the front with date codes 16 15. They have less than 100 miles on them the car is always in a heated and air condition grarge the lettering turned brown in less than a year. I took it back to were I bought them and they said to try tire white product on them and see what happens. I tried it and they didn't change they said l could try to sand them or paint them that was not a opposition for me. I've tried several things nothing seems to work I would to get the issue resolved this year. I've been a fan of Goodrich tires for a long time I have two other vehicles with Goodrich tires one is a truck with 33 - 12.50 - 15s Goodrich all terrain the lettering is still bright white the other vehicle are just plan. I like the ride and handle just dissatisfied with the lettering on the mustang.
